Know what each frame cost. Make it again.

Every frame on this page carries its receipt. Open one and you'll find the model, the seed, the duration, the cost and the prompt exactly as it was sent.

Copy the prompt, keep the seed, and the shot is yours to run again.

Developing Tray

Character turnaround model sheet, four consistent full-body views in a row — front view, 3/4 view, side profile, and back view, evenly spaced, identical original character on all views, pure white seamless studio background, professional character sheet presentation, an original fictional lighthouse keeper, a woman in her late fifties, weathered fair skin, silver-grey hair in a low bun, oval face with a defined jaw, high cheekbones and mature bone structure, sturdy, average-height build, wearing a navy wool fisherman sweater, waxed canvas trousers, a brass whistle on a cord, worn leather boots, no bag, visible fine skin texture with natural pores, fine lines, subtle asymmetries, no digital smoothing, no beauty filter, no AI-airbrushed look, matte-to-natural complexion, naturally muted catchlights, no oversized specular glare in the iris, in a style described as "maritime drama genre, present day era"sample

Turnaround Sheet

a lone swimmer floating on their back in calm open ocean, in blue hour, a broken moonpath across teal water, a magenta afterglow along the horizon, wide shot, eye level angle, 35mm prime lens, at f/2.8, a single moon source low behind the horizon, no fill, true black in the deep water, palette of teal, magenta, black, still mood, in a style described as "photographic, real film grain, no digital smoothing, the camera at water level"

Blue Hour Swim, the Still

a city street seen through a rain-fogged cafe window, one red umbrella crossing, in a street of awnings, taillights and stacked umbrellas compressed into layers, condensation and water tracks on the glass, medium shot, eye level angle, 135mm telephoto lens, at f/2, overcast late afternoon, taillights the only warm source, true black in the wet street, palette of red, slate, amber, hushed mood, in a style described as "photographic, real film grain, no digital smoothing, the glass does the grading"

Leiter's Window, the Still

a grand library hall in exact one-point perspective, a librarian's cart crossing at the vanishing point, in a hall of long oak reading tables, tall windows down one side, dust hanging in the light, wide shot, eye level angle, 24mm prime lens, at f/8, single-source daylight through the side windows, hard shafts, true black under the far arches, palette of oak, warm white, black, patient mood, in a style described as "photographic, real film grain, no digital smoothing, deep focus, every plane sharp"

How It's Made

compile.ts · nitrate-compile/1

  1. You describe the shot once

Subject, light, mood, aspect, seed and what to leave out. Type it into the prompt bar with --ar, --seed and --no as flags, and Nitrate holds it as one structured spec.

  2. Each model hears its own dialect

There are 22 dialects, each traced to the provider's own prompt guide, and the compiled prompt is what the model receives, word for word. Draft quality maps to a parameter or to a substitute model. A flag the model can't take shows up on the receipt as a warning instead of vanishing.

  3. The receipt comes back

It names the model, the seed, how the cost was counted and the hash of the spec. The same spec and seed always compile to the same bytes, so anyone holding a receipt can recompile it and check. Ask for four and you get four jobs, each with its own seed (base + i·7919).

Words It May Use

84 terms · every one cited

When you ask Nitrate to enhance a spec, the model that widens it can only add words from two lists: the provider's own prompt guide and this one. Every word it adds is one you can look up, and a term nobody can cite never reaches the prompt.

Provider guides publish prose, not term lists, so Nitrate keeps the craft vocabulary itself, from shot size to mood, each term read at the page named beside it on the date given. The receipt says which list a word came from.

Layer one of the enhancer's vocabulary. Layer two, each model's own terms, stays attributed to its provider.

Your Brief

Pin the frames closest to what's in your head. Every pin carries its model, seed and job id, so the brief leaves here in the same language the receipts arrive in.

Add the references we couldn't guess: links, films, photographs, the work someone keeps taped above their desk.

Pinned Frames

  • Nothing pinned yet. Press Pin This Frame on any piece and it lands here.

Nitrate is unreleased, so there's no inbox yet. Keep the brief, and it'll run here unchanged when the doors open.Without JavaScript the pins are off. Name frames by their # ids instead, and every receipt carries the rest.

What It Costs

One price per job, set above what the provider charges for it.

Nitrate is unreleased, so nothing is sold yet. A job that can't be priced before it runs is refused, and each frame's receipt shows what the provider charged for it.

Known Limits

A receipt that is wrong is worse than no receipt.
